Mrs. Holthe's Business Principles class took a field trip to The Grateful Shed in Wisconsin Dells for a behind-the-scenes look at the food truck industry. This outing was part of their semester-long project, "Food Truck Simulator," which aims to provide students with a hands-on understanding of various business models employed by food truck operators.
Throughout the semester, students are tasked with writing a comprehensive business plan for their own hypothetical food truck. They will encounter various challenges along the way, from menu development to financial management. Ultimately, they will present their food truck concepts to a panel of "investors" in a simulated pitch competition.
During their visit to The Grateful Shed, students had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the operations of a successful food truck. They were able to speak with Jason Field, the Chief Financial Officer of the business. Field shared his vision for The Grateful Shed and discussed the challenges and triumphs he has faced throughout his career.
By gaining insights from industry professionals like Field, Business Principles students are better equipped to develop realistic and viable business plans for their own food truck ventures.
