The School District of Hillsboro is thrilled to announce the successful completion of its ESSER III construction projects. The highly anticipated installation of an elementary ADA-compliant playground was completed yesterday.
Planning for these projects began in July 2023, with an initial projected completion date of September 1, 2024. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the project was extended until October 11th. Throughout this process, the district gained valuable insights and appreciated the patience and understanding of the school community.
A summary of the completed projects follows:
Restroom renovations
New restroom in the elementary SPED classroom
Acoustical ceiling improvements in the middle school wing
Upgraded PA system
Modernized middle school lighting
Updated dishwasher room
Renovated cafeteria/commons area and replaced middle school cafeteria seating
Epoxy flooring in the food storage area
New kickball/basketball/play area for middle school/high school
Replaced exterior stairs at the elementary school
Enhanced playground areas
Extended the drop-off area to the north side of the elementary school
Installed acoustical wall panels in the cafeteria/gym space at the elementary school
Upgraded doors throughout the district
Making our facilities more inclusive and accessible for all students and staff was a top priority for the district. We are so excited to share these improvements with the school community and look forward to their positive impact on students' learning and well-being.
