Civic Students Pose for Youth Government Day

On Wednesday, November 6th, a group of civics students from Hillsboro High School traveled to Viroqua to participate in Youth Government Day, an event organized by the Vernon County American Legion.

Students had the privilege of observing real court cases, gaining a firsthand look at the judicial process. This experience allowed students to connect their classroom knowledge with practical application. In addition to the courtroom observations, the students toured the Vernon County Detention Center, where they learned about the criminal justice system and the challenges faced by those involved.

Hillsboro High School students gained a deeper understanding of the roles and responsibilities of local government officials, and returned to school with a renewed sense of the importance of civic engagement and community involvement.
