Little Rivers Music Festival

The Little Rivers Music Festival, a collaborative effort between five districts—Hillsboro, New Lisbon, Royall, Weston, and Wonewoc-Center—recently hosted its inaugural Middle School Honors Choir.

Eighty-four talented middle school students gathered to rehearse and perform five challenging pieces under the direction of guest conductor Marcia Russell, a renowned music educator from Platteville Middle School.

The students' dedication and hard work were evident in their powerful performance, which showcased their musical abilities and artistic growth. "The students did an amazing job at being present, trying new things, and making the score come to life through their expression of the text and music," said Mrs. Parker, Hillsboro School District's Choir Director. "They showed true grit and determination throughout the day, and their outstanding performance is commendable."

The event was commemorated by custom t-shirts designed and created by local educators Sherry Holthe and Jennifer McCauley of Tiger Threads in Hillsboro.
