Our very own Miss Scharfenberg has been awarded the Wisconsin Art Education Association’s Outstanding Beginning Art Educator of The Year! 🍎👩‍🎨 This award is given to a teacher in his/her first five years of teaching. He/she must show evidence of supporting state and national art education initiatives, demonstrate effectiveness in the classroom and in the school community, and show leadership and commitment to the art education field. Hillsboro Sports Update: Baseball game at Mauston tonight has been canceled.

Hillsboro Sports Update: The Softball game tonight at Cashton has been postponed due to field conditions. It will be played tomorrow instead. The Baseball game at Wonewoc on 5/10 has been moved to 5/25 and will be played at Hillsboro.

Miss Daisy had the chance to teach art class with Ms. Scharfenberg! She saved up her tiger paws she earned for being respectful, responsible, and safe and was picked in the weekly drawing to be a special teacher helper. She got to demo for the second graders, pass out supplies, help students who had questions, and gave feedback. We may have a future art teacher on our hands! ❤️🌈

I now want to join the military, I just don't know which branch or country.” 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? After 30 years of teaching in Wisconsin (5 years in the Hillsboro School District), Jill Smith Kurtz is retiring. Jill was hired 5 years ago as a Reading Interventionist and then became the District’s Title I Coordinator and Instructional Coach at the Elementary School. She felt it was the perfect time to head toward Minnesota where she lives with her husband Scott. They plan on spending some quality time on the water in their kayaks! 🚣‍♀️ Jill also plans on continuing in the field of education by tutoring students in her neighborhood and teaching part time at Augsburg University. 📖 Drop a comment below and help us wish Jill a happy retirement!
